Mexican poet Octavio Paz was born this day in 1914 . A major figure in modern world literature Paz was surreal in his approach to writing. He wrote on existential themes too.
Paz got international recognition after the publication of his masterpiece LABYRINTH OF SOLITUDE- a profound study of Mexican society. A diplomat by profession for sometime Paz also wrote extensively on politics and international relations.
He got the Nobel in 1990.
He is basically fascinating in his poetry and to read his poems is to feel heaven.
