Lata Mangeshkar was a household name -a gifted singer famous for her divine voice who enthralled music lovers for several decades rendering songs in 36 languages. She was fondly called "Nightingale of India " & "Melody Queen " and happened to be one of the most recognizable faces in Indian Cinema. She was conferred India's highest civil award the Bharat Ratna (Jewel of India) . What was the most distinctive part of her vocal was her quality of voice that remained like a girl's till her last days.
Her demise has created a void in the world of music. She will be missed.
