GEETANJALI SHREE WINS INTERNATIONAL BOOKER PRIZE!

Hindi is a rether new language in India where 22 languages have constitutional recognition. With a history of 700 years or in modern sense a history of just over a hundred year Hindi has been able to develop its canons. In terms of speakers Hindi is the fourth major language of the world but sadly it couldn't get the kind of recognition it deserved. Today the world stage has taken its recognition when Hindi Novelist Geetanjali Shree has been awarded the prestigious International Booker Prize for her Novel RET SAMADHI ( TOMB OF SAND).

It's a great honour for all of us who know this language and have always felt for its wider recognition.
